Okay for my small wrist

I was hesitant about this watch since it pushes the boundary of being too big for my small wrists (~6 1/2 inches) and was torn between this one and the slightly smaller Citizen Men’s AT0200-05E Eco-Drive. I went with this one because I dig the sunken inner dials and just like how it looks, and I am pretty pleased so far. It’s a very nice looking watch, love the strap (not too big or too small), and it doesn’t feel heavy. And though the 42mm case doesn’t feel too big on my wrist, sometimes I think it’s a bit too big (see pic). So far it’s kept great time. I tried to sync its time down to the second against my cellphone and it’s stayed within a few seconds since I did that a week or so ago — I’m guessing when I left it in the sun for a few hours, the sudden charge of energy sped it up a tiny bit. Totally unscientific reasoning… The watch came with the date already set, so I haven’t had to monkey with that, but setting that time was relatively easy after reading the directions, though it is not as simple as pulling out the crown and adjusting the time; there’s a couple of steps one has to pay attention to. Nothing mind bending, though. I’m torn on the chronograph feature since it requires pulling out the crown, changing the “mode”, and then pushing in the crown before the chronograph can be used. It’s not as simple as just pressing the buttons. Then again, I’ve never owned an analog watch with a chronograph so I have no clue if that’s just how they work. Long story short, it’s been a couple of weeks and I still like the watch with zero buyers remorse.

Another Fantastic Citizen Eco-Drive Watch

I have been a fan of the Citizen Eco-Drive product line for some time. I received this watch as a Father’s Day gift in 2012 and it is one of about a dozen Citizen watches that I own. For the money, I have found that the quality of Citizen cannot be beat; far beyond the quality of sub-$200 watches that Invicta and others offer but still able to reasonably compete with higher-end brands without the $2000+ price tag.

Very good, but could have been great

This is a military style watch from Citizen. The movement is a high quality Eco-Drive with perpetual calendar. That means you’ll only need to set it once and it the date will be correct until the battery dies. That is important because these movements are more complicated to set than most other movements, however there are YouTube videos that will walk you through it step by step if needed. Even though this watch is solar-powered, it does have a rechargeable battery and these can die eventually. However, they’ll last much longer than the 3-4 years that a standard quartz watch battery lasts.

Great watch. Terrible documentation.

Pros: Cheap! I bought it on Cyber Monday sale for ~$160 which is an absolute steal. Beautiful watch made of Titanium. Has “hand adjustment” so you can adjust the hands to be more accurate (I had to adjust my minute hand when I received it because it was nearly half a minute off). I own several Citizen Eco Drive watches and several Seiko Solar and Seiko Automatic watches. This is the nicest watch I have by far. If set properly, you should almost never have to set it again. Extremely accurate. Not even a second off after a couple weeks of use. It adjusts for the days in the month, leap years, etc. It even has a local time (L-TM) so you can adjust the local time to match wherever you’re traveling to and when you get home, switch back to your home time simply by switching back to TME. Very nice looking and nice band. Accompany it with a butterfly clasp and you have a very, very nice watch. Easily could pay >$500+ for it from a jewelry store (don’t do that).

Love the watch

Love the watch. Took some time to get used to a smaller face than I’m used to, but it’s been a while since ive had any kind of indigo dials, which, in this watches case, seem to last forever. Last a while in a good way. I’ve had smart watches that if I even breathe too hard light up and can throw off your sleep. But, this watch is noticeable even after being out of light for some time (hours it seems) but not in a wake you up sort of way. It’s also nearly silent for a mechanical watch which is a plus for a light sleeper who can hear even the slightest tick. It has an alarm, which I haven’t used, nor the chronograph. For a seemingly simple watch, for someone new to citizen it was slightly difficult to program coming from someone who loves watches, hence the 4/5 stars. Also, the manual provided never really mentioned what the top right dial, 1-10 is for, nor have I used it since I got the watch. But it’s light, looks good and feels good.

Pure Elegance!

I am kind of a watch connoisseur but also a budget conscious! I was seeing this watch for last couple years and finally bought it during thanksgiving! This is a sharp looking executive watch. I still have to explore the functions in detail but to be genuine, most of the people will never use these extra features! I would have loved a little bigger dial but it’s fine given the elegance of this watch and the belt’s brown shade is also of a very nice tone. It seems it needs to break-in as with any good quality leather accessories. Have a look at attached photos.

Look!

I bought this for my husband, here’s his review………

Had the alarm been loud enough I’d have given the watch 5 stars.

This watch really is well made not only for the price but it genuinely is high quality. It has many features that are useful and are usually found on watches in a higher price range. The chronograph works perfectly and is precise to 1/50th of a second. You really don’t need much light to keep this thing running, and that’s great to not have to worry about a battery to change for years. If you haven’t had a titanium watch before you might feel like the watch is made cheaply because of the weight, and it just feels different than a stainless watch. I say this because when I first played around with it I could swear the bezel was plastic or something similar as it felt very different from the stainless steel watches I have had. I emailed citizen’s service department and they verified that the case back, case, and bezel all are made of titanium and that they get that question often.
